Part Design Flexibility 7-28-10

Recently one of our current customers came to us and asked us to quote a new production part for them. After our engineering team reviewed the part it was determined that the part was not within our production capabilities. The story doesn't end here. We asked our customer if they could be fexible with their design as long as the part met their required design criteria. They agreed and we went to work. After a few brain storming sessions we came up with a design that was acceptable to them. The new design saved them thousands of dollars in tooling as well! The point of the story, is to try to be flexible with your part design.
